28 Weeks

Ok, people have been asking for a very pregnant me and belly shot (or was it just the belly shot?)… well, here you go :) I guess I am actually 29 weeks now, but close enough. I am tired and ready for the baby to be here. I move at a turtle’s pace and ache everywhere. I used to run 20 miles a week, now I can barely walk around the block without sciatic, belly and back pain. Fun times…only a few more weeks to go! :)

Praise God, the baby is doing well thus far. Heart rates have been good at Dr. appointments and the earlier ultrasounds have all been normal. He/she moves a lot! It’s like a dance party in my belly. Whether I’m walking, sitting, standing or laying down...lots of movement. Pretty sure more than Ada moved around.

My little helper was great. She took the pictures of me via the iPad/camera on tri-pod and I think they turned out pretty good. The iPad is a little cumbersome to try to hold yourself, but it’s nice to see the image before snapping away. Ada might be a budding photographer…or she will resent me for life with all the pictures I make her take :)

It was very muddy down by the river, we both slipped a few times and I almost ate it (thankfully no one saw it)! Ada had fun playing in the muddy sand before heading home :) It was also a fairly warm afternoon that day (like 60 degrees), unusual for January.

37 Weeks

I’ve been told baby could come any day now even though my due date is still 3 weeks away. I really hope it’s sooner rather than later because I can barely move anymore. I am swelling pretty bad all over and was instructed to keep my feet elevated. Everything is still looking normal and good, no complications so far.

Our childbirth class is over and things are moving along. I just ordered diapers since I am doing cloth which will be nice with my new handy dandy diaper sprayer. I am really excited to try this. My enthusiasm will probably fade once I change 10-12 diapers a day and do lots of laundry, but I will try to stay optimistic :) I think we are ready as much as we can be for Roo’s arrival, materialistic speaking that is. We have most of the important baby gear and a short list for both boy and girl names. The hard part is picking the “perfect” name off that list.

Please pray for a safe delivery and a healthy baby in the coming few weeks. Todd will most likely be the one keeping you posted by email or Facebook when the time comes.

32 Weeks

I’m getting closer. Baby is doing well. My doctor believes Roo’s head has moved down which is why I can breathe a little easier these days. Only two more sessions to go in our childbirth class then we are done. Hopefully we’ll remember some of the things we were taught.

Each week that passes I am getting more and more ready to meet our little baby. I am excited to hold Roo…boy or girl…can’t wait to find out.

I couldn’t decide between my two outfits, so you get two similar pictures that show my growing belly :)

Roo’s Room

I am not yet done with the room, but thought I would show you what I do have so far. I still need to put pictures & other stuff on the walls, find curtains,  and buy a chair.

1) I chose the crib sheet set because it was colorful and somewhat gender neutral. It came with another sheet with the animal print (same as comforter) and a bed skirt with stripes.

2) The dresser is my old childhood dresser which I painted white, it used to be black and in our bedroom. We got new stuff from IKEA. Another post perhaps :)

3) The adorable & silly sock monster was made by my dear sister-in-law Cherise. He makes me smile every time I walk into the room.

4) The kangaroo photo is a tribute to our little Roo, taken at the Australia Zoo not too long ago.

5) The rippled knit throw is something I made a couple years ago, who knew it would blend with the current color theme.

6) The Space Needle print is what Cherise and I both bought for our baby rooms, they were fun and colorful and only $2.

7-9) The last pictures are of the beautiful quilt my Mom hand made. She even put a little kangaroo on the back.

   

Oregon Weekend

Almost two weeks ago my brother, sister-in-law and nephew flew up from California to stay for 8 days. The day after they arrived in Bellingham we all drove down to Warren, Oregon to spend the weekend with more family. I was given a baby shower and family got to meet Holden for the first time. My parents even flew up for the event, which we had all been planning for awhile. We had a wonderful time chatting, eating and playing games (later on in the evenings).

Thanks again Aunt Cathy, Uncle Lamar & Brittany for hosting all of us for the weekend!

28 Weeks

I am actually in my 29th week but was delayed in posting this. We were busy with my brother, sister-in-law and nephew who were visiting this past week. I will have lots of photos of our time together coming soon.

Besides a few aches and pains, this past month has been pretty good. Roo’s movements have increased along with lots of baby hiccups. Todd & I got the baby room mostly done so my nephew Holden had a comfy place to sleep while here. I still have things to put on the wall, curtains to find, and a chair to buy but everything else is in place. I’ll have pictures of the room at some point. We also started our childbirth class which has been great, we are learning a lot. Only 11 weeks to go until baby should be here :)

24 Weeks

This time around I decided not to do the self portrait “headless horseman” thing. You can see my face! I still am tired beyond belief, which you can tell in my face and messy hair. Actually my hair is always messy because it is so thick! Oh and my hormones are making me break out like crazy, it’s like high school all over again, fun! From all the weight I am gaining the side view is the least disturbing, no front views for you all (unless of course you see me in person).

Enough about my lack of grace while pregnant. Baby is doing great. Lots of movement during the day. Roo likes to kick at my bladder for some reason :) Next doctors visit I get my RhoGAM shot because I am RH negative and take a glucose test after drinking some “yummy” lab concoction. In the next couple weeks Todd and I will be signing up for a childbirth class. The fun/torture begins!

20 Weeks

I’m half way there! It’s gone by pretty fast, but it has been uncomfortable. I haven’t slept straight through a night in about 3 months and I know it won’t improve after the baby is born :) At least I will be used to a waking every 2-3 hours schedule.

It’s a….

Surprise! We had the opportunity to find out what we are having but chose to wait until January to be surprised. The baby is doing well and is a healthy 9oz.
