Wedding Bells

This past weekend we were in the Olympia area celebrating the wedding of Todd’s sister Kali and her husband Seth. The ceremony was small yet beautiful. We wish them the very best!

They had a photographer but I thought I would take a few with my lenses. I used all three and discovered I don’t really like my stock lens much anymore, especially for indoors (800 ISO is terrible) but needed it for wide angle. The other two did well without a flash.

Did you have to go to 800 ISO because of f-stop limitations? Sometimes my 800 ISO pics are OK and others are just awful. I haven't quite figured out why yet...I mean, they're never as good as a 100, but I don't know why sometimes they're worse than others.

Yeah, the 800 was because of the f-stop for my stock lens. I think the lowest it let me go was 4.5f which is not that great for inside, handheld.

I was able to do 400 with my other 2 lenses because I could go to 2.8f and they turned out pretty good, even cropped.

Yeah, I haven't figured out why the 800 is crappy sometimes and sometimes ok. I avoid it unless I have no choice. I would love to get the lens similar to my stock, but with the 2.8f. Someday :)
