We are going to paint our house, finally! It has taken us (ok, actually me) a year to decide on a paint color. Since we are doing it ourselves we hope to be saving lots of moola, but probably not time. Todd spent all day Saturday, from 9:00am-8:30pm pressure washing the entire house. We took a break for the Sumas fireworks which were pretty awesome! Then after church on Sunday we both caulked the seams around the doors, windows and siding. I even got up on the roof for the second story. We should be able to start painting this week. So, if you have nothing better to do, feel free to join us :)

Deception Pass Part 3
On Sunday we packed up the car then drove to west beach nearby. We discovered tide pools in the large rocks along the water. There were pink sea anemones, large crabs, fish, and cool barnacles sticking out their tongues. After the tide pools we did a little more sea glass hunting then headed to the car for lunch. It had started sprinkling so we ate in the car. Soon we had to leave and Jimmy was especially sad. We had a fun weekend with our friends :)

Deception Pass Part 2
We spent the rest of Saturday afternoon along the shoreline. Todd and Peter tossed a frisbee, Jessica and I searched for sea glass, and Jimmy had fun playing with rocks and sticks. After awhile, we headed back to camp for dinner and to relax by the fire. We ate s’mores with peanut butter (can’t go without that now) and played a few games (us girls dominated) before retiring for the night.

Deception Pass
Last weekend we went camping with our friends Peter, Jessica and their son Jimmy. We stayed at beautiful Deception Pass State Park on Whidbey Island. We had a lot of fun and just a little bit of rain as we packed up on Sunday. Since I always take lots of pictures, here are a few from the first half of the day; crossing the bridge and setting up. I have more for tomorrow and the next day :)

Red & Green
I picked 12 cups of strawberries from our backyard this afternoon! I have been forgetting to harvest them until today. You seriously have to grab them as soon as they ripen or the slugs take ginormous bites out of them…argh! I found a few ripe raspberries too, yummy! My potato plants are thriving and my tomatoes are getting big on the vine. I am happy.
I thought I would change things up and post square pictures this time around…yippee! It does mean I cropped quite a bit from each one, is that cheating? :)

In the Garden
I have some fun things growing in the garden this year. I created a little patch in the back corner of our yard in which I planted garden beans, radishes and pumpkins. They are sprouting and doing really well (I think because of that heat wave we had). I also have lettuce, potatoes, tomatoes, radishes and beans in pots. I love home grown veggies; you can really taste the difference. My roses were also very happy with the heat we had last week, they all have blooms now.
